Scholarship Kick-off News
South Windsor Dollars for Scholars INC is the local chapter affiliate for Dollars for Scholars® program of Scholarship America®. We have been in service to the South Windsor community since 1958. Students who are residents of South Windsor, CT; educated within the town limits of, but not residents of South Windsor, CT; or students meeting scholarship specific criteria or residency requirements may be considered for scholarships. In January of 2014, we joined other Dollars for Scholars® chapters nationwide by offering on-line applications. Our website address is: SouthWindsor.dollarsforscholars.org.
Students may go on-line through the Student and Parent Log-In page to begin their scholarship application at any time. It is essential for applicants to thoroughly read the information on the Student and Parent Log-In page. Scholarships specifically serviced through South Windsor Dollars for Scholars INC will be accessible through our website ONLY from 21 January through 15 March of each calendar year. Students will need to revisit their application and complete the South Windsor Dollars for Scholars INC specific section for consideration of our local scholarship offerings. There is only one application to complete for consideration, though some scholarships do require specific essays or portfolio inclusions. All applications will be required to be submitted electronically through our website. Notification of South Windsor Dollars for Scholars INC scholarship awards will be made in late May or early June.
Applicants also have the opportunity to apply for several national, state and regional scholarships offered through the Dollars for Scholars® and Scholarship America® programs. Scholarships vary, as do their deadlines, so students should visit this section frequently throughout the school year. Students should enter the Student and Parent Log-In section to complete and submit the main section of the application. The Scholarship America® News and Resource area to the right side of the screen allows access to several national, state and regional scholarships. Click on the "Student Opportunities" section and click on "Browse Scholarships" tab. Scholarships listed will provide you with information such as deadlines, specific criteria, and restrictions. Students should check the website frequently throughout the school year for access to these wonderful scholarship offerings. If selected, recipients will be contacted directly through Scholarship America®.
